פרופ' יואב דותן הוא פרופ' מן המניין, פרו-דיקן ומופקד הקתדרה למשפט ציבורי ע"ש אדווין א. גודמן בפקולטה למשפטים באוניברסיטה העברית. הוא כיהן כדיקן הפקולטה למשפטים (2005-2009). תחומי העניין העיקריים שלו הם משפט מינהלי, משפט ציבורי, רגולציה, ועריכת דין מטעם המדינה. דותן פרסם ספרים ומאמרים רבים בארץ ובחו"ל בתחום המשפט הציבורי לרבות מאמרים ב Law & Society Review; Oxford Journal of Legal Studies; Administrative Law. דותן זכה חתן פרס חשין למצוינות אקדמית במשפט (2012) והוא חתן פרס גורני לתרומה ייחודית למשפט הציבורי (2019). הוא כיהן כנשיא האגודה הישראלית למשפט וחברה (2012-2014).
