פרופסור דפנה לוינסון-זמיר מחזיקה בקתדרה לדיני הסביבה על שם לואיס מרשל בפקולטה למשפטים של האוניברסיטה העברית, וכיהנה כדיקנית הפקולטה למשפטים (2022-2019). היא בעלת תואר בוגר (בהצטיינות) ותואר דוקטור (בהצטיינות יתרה) מן האוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים. תחומי העניין שלה הם דיני קניין ותיאוריה של דיני קניין, ניתוח כלכלי והתנהגותי של המשפט, מחקר משפטי אמפירי, ואתיקה נורמטיבית והמשפט.
פרופ' לוינסון-זמיר התמחתה בבית המשפט העליון אצל השופט דב לוין ובמחלקת הבג"צים במשרד המשפטים. היא קיבלה פרסים ומלגות רבים וביניהם פרס נשיא האוניברסיטה העברית לחוקר צעיר מצטיין ע"ש יורם בן-פורת, פרס השופט ש"ז חשין למצוינות אקדמית במשפט לחוקר בכיר, פרס צלטנר לחוקר צעיר ולחוקר בכיר, מלגת פולברייט ומלגת רוטשילד. פרופ' לוינסון-זמיר הייתה חוקרת אורחת בבתי הספר למשפטים של הרווארד ושל ייל, ופרופסור אורח בבתי הספר למשפטים של שיקגו, NYU, ג'ורג'טאון והמרכז ללימודי משפט עבר-לאומיים בלונדון (CTLS).
מחקריה של פרופ' לוינסון-זמיר פורסמו במיטב הבמות המשפטיות, וביניהן Yale Law Journal, NYU Law Review, Texas Law Review, Cornell Law Review, Journal of Empirical Legal Studies, University of Toronto Law Journal, Law & Social Inquiry and Minnesota Law Review. ספרה האחרון, THE PSYCHOLOGY OF PROPERTY LAW (שנכתב ביחד עם סטפני סטרן), התפרסם בהוצאת NYU Press.
